Who it is for
How to check quality of backlinks when every page is hand-written
Look at who linked. A trade magazine editor tells you more about your article than two hundred links from sites that exist only to carry them, and a referring-domain list shows that gap in seconds.
We built NoAISEO for people who write every page themselves and want their links read by something that does not pretend to guess authorship. Nothing exotic. The free lookup returns a 0–100 Domain Rating for any domain, computed as round(100 · log(ref_domains+1) / log(2·10^7)), which is our own metric, comparable in spirit to Ahrefs DR or Moz DA but never the same number.
Our own crawler and our own link index feed every answer, and the index is refreshed roughly once a month. Freshness has limits. A link won last week may not show yet, and for daily crawls or keyword research Ahrefs and Semrush are the fuller tools. If you want the philosophy behind the product, the about page has it in four paragraphs.
Checklist
What to keep on file before you ask anyone for a link
- Dated drafts: Google Docs version history, a Git log or timestamped files, saved before the page went live
- A named author with a bio page and one way to be contacted
- One first-hand detail no model could supply, such as a photo you took, a measurement or a receipt
- Sources cited in the text, each with the date you read it
- A change note at the foot of the page for every edit after publishing
Our position
Links do not know who wrote the page
A link is a vote cast by another site, and it is cast on how the page looks to a reader. Nothing in a backlink record shows authorship, and we will not pretend otherwise. What links add to expert writing is reach: more readers find the work, and the sites pointing to it say in public who they think it helps. The proof of authorship lives on your side of the fence, in drafts and bylines.
- We cannot detect machine-written text and we do not sell that
- Authorship evidence is yours to keep: drafts, bylines, first-hand material
- Links help most when the page is already worth citing
- No result is promised, from links or from anything else
How it works
Five minutes with the free lookup
Enter your domain
Type it into the box at the top. The domain action needs no key and returns Domain Rating, referring domains and total backlinks.
Read the referring-domain count
Ten links from ten sites beat ten links from one. Domains are the number to watch, because raw links can be inflated by a single footer.
Pull the list
The refdomains action costs 2 credits and returns up to 1,000 rows. Sort it, then scan for sites a real reader of your topic would recognise.
Check the anchors
The anchors action, also 2 credits, shows how others word the link. Brand names and plain URLs look natural; a wall of one commercial phrase does not.
Write the date down
The index refreshes about monthly. Save today's numbers in your own file and compare next month.
Compare
Signals you control and signals others give you
| Signal | Who supplies it | A link index can show | A link index cannot show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Named author with a bio | You | Nothing | Whether the person exists |
| Draft history and dated files | You | Nothing | When or how the text was written |
| First-hand photos and data | You | Nothing directly | Whether the experience was real |
| Links from relevant sites | Other publishers | Referring domains, DR, anchors, top pages | Why they linked, or whether visits followed |
Pull referring domains for one site
Swap in your own domain and key. One call returns up to 1,000 rows and is billed once, whatever the row count.
curl "https://noaiseo.com/api.php?action=refdomains&q=example.com&per=100&key=sk_live_..."

Questions from writers who do it by hand
- How do I check quality of backlinks without a big suite?
- Use the free domain lookup for a first read, then pull referring domains at 2 credits a call, about $0.0002. Sort by Domain Rating, read the anchors and judge relevance with your own eyes. The data comes from our own link index, refreshed monthly, so repeat the check each month.
- Do backlinks prove my article was written by a human?
- No. A backlink record says who linked and with what words. It carries nothing about who typed the page. Proof of authorship comes from drafts, version history, a real byline and first-hand material, which the decision tree walks through.
- Will Google demote my site for using AI?
- Google's February 2023 guidance says AI use is not against its rules by itself, while content produced mainly to manipulate rankings is spam. The March 2024 spam policies name scaled content abuse. Nobody can promise an outcome either way, so judge pages by usefulness.
- Can NoAISEO tell me whether a page was machine-written?
- No, and we would distrust any tool that says it can with certainty. OpenAI withdrew its own AI text classifier in July 2023 for low accuracy. If a detector has flagged your work, see our troubleshooting table.
- Is your Domain Rating the same as Ahrefs DR?
- No. It is our own metric, a log scale built from referring domains, so it behaves like Ahrefs DR or Moz DA in spirit and gives different numbers. Compare sites inside one tool, never across tools.
- What does it cost to try?
- Nothing at first. The domain, overview, stats and suggest actions are free with no key, and signing in with a Google account gives $100 of credit, 1,000,000 credits, with no card. After that you top up with USDT.
